I’m a biologist, working as a postdoc (at a distance) for the University of Massachusetts, where I got my PhD.  I’m also an honorary researcher at the University of Aberdeen, where my husband is in the philosophy department.

I study bacteria that make electricity and biofuels.  I was trained in classical genetics and biochemistry, and also work in bioinformatics – studying genome sequences to discover how organisms work.  You can find copies of my papers on my CV page.
